Details:

I'm looking for a set of appropriate knobs and these aren't the right ones. The unit has spent virtually its entire life locked up in a college basement. Both volume pots can be a little scratchy - I have not yet cleaned them. I pulled one of the capacitors and found that ESR was at around 6.

I removed the capacitors, scraped off some tar, and glued bases back together. I can't describe in words the warmth of sound this amplifier puts out. 4 ohms and the capacitance, while off, wan't too far from factory ratings. Someone, presumably some grad student, repaired the fiberglass bases of a couple capacitors with black tar, as shown in photos.

The j panel uses a pot and vintage microphone connector for input you'll need witchcraft 2501f to connect with it. The neon bulb is original, and works. There are some small scratches here and over the entire unit. They seem to work just fine.

If I find a set of knobs the right vintage, i'll install them and update this ad. I've tested and used the b panel. Langevin 128 mono tube amplifier in good working condition, with type b preamps and j high impedance input panels all original tubes capacitors. I have not used or tested the j panel so far.

I'm guessing this is the 128X-b model because of presence type b panel. Its truly exceptional.

The b preamps panel utilizes a Langevin ft-402-b center-tapped input transformer with both inputs brought out to an terminal strip inside cabinet please see photo, along 6l7 tube. Condition: overall the amplifier is in very good condition.
