Ran a demagnetize and head cleaner through it am really impressed with the sound. I found this on the internet: Mcs cassette decks were made by neck. It also records well.
This is, in fact, a re-badges neck k-525e from their high quality authentic series. I think its worth a few extra bucks, most items can't be replaced for any price. It does require some expert packaging experience, proper materials and lots of time to pack right, so get there safely.
I pride myself on extreme over protective packaging. It does have 2 spots on the top where there must been another piece of audio equipment.
