There has always been an audible hum with the volume off. This circa 1962 Pilot model 6B500 stereo console has the 500 amplifier, which been compared to highly regarded SA-232 preamps tuner with magic eye tuning indicator, 100 FM multiplexer for separation, Gerard auto slim 4 speed turntable 45 changer and extra needle, a full complement of Jensen special design speakers. I've owned this console 20 years it works exactly like the day I got.

This beautiful piece looks sounds great.
