This makes it really easy to work on. This was my daily driver for years. The housing is made from solid maple. I am not an artist with tube amps, just a technically minded guy that can learn thing or two and follow directions.
If you just want one that already sounds great then this will do it. Hard to sell this one given its sentimental value and how much went into it but so goes. I added a power switch and 5-way binding posts. That was several years ago so I couldn't tell you exactly what did but do remember some of it involved improvements to the screen supply.
It isn't fancy but is functional. I tweaked the circuit a bit based on suggestions found popular forums. Little tabs in the back allow you to slide out. Happy to answer any questions.
They are yucky looking as many old mullard 6bq5 but test well and work. I know i'm asking a little bit more for this one than similar units have been going. The coupling caps are big Russian ft-3 Teflon.
The pre-amp tubes are old but sound good and test on my tester. The power tubes are Magnavox branded mullard 6bq5s. The voltage s inside are potentially deadly, even when amplifier is not plugged in. Alternatively, you can remove the bottom cover and flip whole thing upside down rest it on top of wood frame.
