Review BARVIC Dual Mono Tube Amplifier Guitar Bass

The Barvic A15AM Dual Mono Tube Amplifier is a vintage-inspired masterpiece that will transport you back to the golden era of music. This amplifier is equipped with two high-quality EL84, 6BQ5, and EF86 tubes, offering a rich and warm tone that is perfect for guitar, bass, and even harp players.

The EL84 tubes provide a powerful and punchy sound with a smooth overdrive, while the 6BQ5 tubes add a touch of warmth and depth to the tone. The EF86 tubes contribute to the amp's unique midrange, providing a balanced and harmonious sound that is ideal for both clean and distorted playing.

The Barvic A15AM is a dual mono amplifier, meaning it has separate channels for each input. This allows for greater control and versatility, as you can shape the tone of each channel independently. The amp also features a simple yet effective three-knob control panel, with separate knobs for volume, tone, and gain.

The Barvic A15AM is a 15-watt amplifier, making it perfect for small to medium-sized venues or practice sessions at home. Its compact size and vintage aesthetic make it a stylish addition to any music setup, while its high-quality construction ensures that it will provide years of reliable service.

Whether you're a guitarist looking for a vintage tone, a bassist seeking a warm and punchy sound, or a harpist looking for a unique and expressive amplifier, the Barvic A15AM Dual Mono Tube Amplifier is an excellent choice. Its rich and warm tone, versatile dual mono design, and vintage aesthetic make it a must-have for any serious musician.

Pros of the Barvic A15AM Dual Mono Tube Amplifier:

1. Authentic Tube Sound: The use of EL84, 6BQ5, EF86, and A15 vacuum tubes provides a warm, rich, and natural sound that is difficult to achieve with solid-state amplifiers.

2. Versatility: This amplifier can be used with various instruments, including guitar, bass, harp, and 60s harp, making it a versatile choice for musicians who play multiple instruments.

3. Monophonic or Dual Mono Operation: The amplifier can be used in monophonic mode (one channel) or dual monophonic mode (two independent channels), providing more versatility in sound shaping.

4. Hand-wired: The hand-wired construction ensures high-quality sound and durability, as components are carefully selected and placed by skilled technicians.

5. Vintage Look: With its vintage appearance, the Barvic A15AM adds a touch of nostalgia to any music setup, making it a great choice for musicians who appreciate vintage aesthetics.

Cons of the Barvic A15AM Dual Mono Tube Amplifier:

1. Maintenance: Tube amplifiers require regular maintenance, such as tube replacement and cleaning, to maintain optimal performance and prevent damage.

2. Power Consumption: Tube amplifiers tend to consume more power than solid-state amplifiers, which can increase energy costs in the long run.

3. Size and Weight: The Barvic A15AM is a larger and heavier amplifier compared to solid-state amplifiers, which may be inconvenient for musicians who frequently travel or need to move their equipment frequently.

4. Cost: Tube amplifiers can be more expensive than solid-state amplifiers of similar quality, making them a more significant investment for some musicians.

Recommendation:

If you are a musician who values the rich, warm sound of a tube amplifier and is willing to invest in a quality piece of equipment, the Barvic A15AM Dual Mono Tube Amplifier is an excellent choice. Its versatility, hand-wired construction, and vintage look make it an attractive option for guitar, bass, harp, and 60s harp players.

However, it is essential to consider the maintenance and cost associated with tube amplifiers before making a purchase. If you are a musician who frequently travels or needs a more portable and cost-effective option, a solid-state amplifier may be a better fit for your needs. Ultimately, the choice between a tube and solid-state amplifier depends on your personal preferences, budget, and musical requirements.

Details:

We bring all tube amplifiers up to power slowly on a Mauriac avoid damage and properly reform the capacitors. We brought it up briefly using a Mauriac with the 6bq5's, 12ax7, 12au7, and 6ca4, I don't have ef86 tubes. Although I test them to the best of my ability, i'm not an expert by any means.

The top of chassis has a 1/4 microphone input back panel 4-screw terminal strip for grad, 4, 8 and 16 ohms, an rca type screw hum adjustment. All the knobs turn freely first knob is missing a piece and it looks like still has original components. It still has the original 2-prong power cord which should be changed to a grounded for safety reasons. Up for offer is a vintage Barvic dual el84 6bq5 tube amplifier, model A15AM from the 60s made in Vancouver, canada.

It measures approximately 13 x 6 at its highest point and weighs about 17 lbs. Cosmetically the chassis is in beautiful condition please see pictures. Some items will just be plugged in and powered on without further testing so don't assume the item works because it powers.

The tubes lit up but didn't produce any sound and remember I have ef86s so it may or not need work to bring its full potential. There is no cage with this one but the bottom cover present. I do combine offers whenever possible to save you shipping costs.

Please look at my other offers for some very unique amplifier and vintage electronics. When purchasing 50 year old items you should expect that some work may need to be done them bring back up their full potential. None of the tubes are included, what you'll need is. It was bought at an estate sale and marked working.
