No plastic here, except for the 7 backbit selector buttons. Unfortunately, pictures do no capture the beauty of this AM-1 operating with vu, peak meters, and Phase scope moving in hypnotizing fashion. All functions work properly, to include back lights for scope scale, and push button selectors.
This is the biggest and best that b systems made, to include a 5 diagonal oscilloscope monitor, with backbit selectors select channel 1 left, 2 right Phase, time code. If your system does not have XLR capacity, you can simply use a sitcom rca to audio level converter, or an atom 100 which both allow adjustment perfectly match. Other than this, the Phase scope functions as it did when was new released.
Anyone who has tried to match signals using peak meters knows that they are worthless for this task, and solely used headroom. It is certainly bigger that the scopes I have seen on marantz or mcintosh systems. These can all be accessed for changing without opening the unit.
It also has the biggest Simpson vu meters and all model's that followed were built with smaller scopes, meters, plastic parts looked like toys compared to AM-1. All functions work perfectly. The only thing to note is scope trace a little on dim side and adjustable intensity knob front face of needs be turned up all way.
