It currently doesn work but that's very common with a 40 year old piece of audio equipment that operates off belt tension and pinch rollers. The deck is untouched and powers on but will need new belts tuneup from a knowledgeable tech. My interest in tapes has faded as I prefer reels and vinyl more now. Up for sale is a Hitachi D-980 cassette deck that I no longer have room in my collection.

This was one of the top end offerings from Hitachi in late 70s-early 80s and retailed for close to $500 new. Its in beautiful condition, albeit slightly dusty, but its been sitting a storage closet for number of years.
