Cosmetically, unit shows moderate wear. FFWD RW are not currently working. I do guarantee against DOA, so if for some crazy reason the deck is a lost cause i'very much doubt this please notify me. During testing I found that deck will often play a cassette uninterrupted, but the speed is bit off.
Audio was balanced in both channels when playback working. One switch has some lettering rubbing off. No dust or debris buildup. Flywheel looks good, tape counter works, level meters work for both channels, and solenoids are working.
This might explain at least some of the problem. Output control will need some cleaning static as most other controls probably. Interior of deck is very clean and looks good. Front panel looks pretty good overall.
Cord is fully intact. Vintage JVC DD-66 direct-drive 3-head cassette deck in working condition, but need of service. Deck is guaranteed to arrive in described condition, but sold As-Is/For Parts or Restoration. Cabinet top has lots of scratches, scuffs, and dings.
There is a number '4' written on rt side of front panel. Sides rear panel look good. Display illuminates fully. Other times, deck stops playback a few seconds in.
The first problem I found is a crack in the idler tire see photo #6. I didn't see any other obvious issues in the transport. Unit is missing one foot rubber stick-on type.
