Most of old decks need new belts,in this Akai I just clean them with other moving parts, strong take-up,Re and ff. It is wide,12 deep, 6 high and 19 lb heavy. External microphone,headset, line in out and din plugs. Unit was cleaned ,inspected and tested,no problem at all-works great.
Very well build,big motor and flywheel with extra technical features like: tape cue memory, MP filter, input selector,Dolby NR.
