I don't know if this is a simple problem or complex problem, but its more than can troubleshoot and fix myself. And a cassette tape plays fine through the left speaker channel. The dials produce some crackling, but not too bad: this usually indicates dust on potentiates, which is quite normal for a stereo of age if it has been recently serviced.
Condition: the radio functions normally. Unfortunately, the stereo is not fully functioning. A few spots on the wood have some white staining. One of the corners speakers has a slight gap.

The problem with this stereo is right speaker channel does not work when put into cassette mode.
Both speakers channels work normally in radio mode. Adjusting the balance to left speaker eliminates noise in right of course, it also all sound coming out.
Shipping: when the stereo is switch to cassette mode, right speaker produces a loud buzz hum sound.
