Check for any signs of wear, damage, or missing parts, and ensure that the seller is reputable and trustworthy. Additionally, consider the cost of any potential maintenance or repair needs, and weigh the benefits of the unique sound experience against the challenges of owning a vintage device. Ultimately, the Ampex Micro-9 VTG may not be the best choice for everyone, but for those who appreciate the rich history and unique sound of analog recordings, it is an investment worth considering.
If you depress those buttons only half way down it functions normally. You can turn the volume to max and it is still very low. Item has been tested. The belt is very worn/loose.
I'm pretty sure a new belt will take care of the FF/Rewind issue. It is also missing the battery cover. It plays cassettes fine. I think something is wrong with the pensioner.
It has a name and numbers etched onto it twice. Maybe someone with more knowledge than me can repair it. There is also an issue with the volume that I could not figure out. Comes in soft case with zipper closure, carry strap and power cord.
For FF and Rewind functions if you press those buttons down normally it works but very slowly. It is just low volume. It works but has issues.
