I didn have a blank tape so wan able to test record. The bad: You can hear a buzz coming from on the left side of unit after being few minutes, doesn seem to affect tape playing or music, but it probably needs be fixed at some point. Very Rare Vintage Technics RS-M229 Tape Deck Made In Japan Manufactured Under DBX License. Its never had any maintenance done on it.
