The turntable and power supply in this offer have matching serial numbers which is fairly rare to find as supplies get mixed up over years. I started the restoration of SP-10 Mike turntable off by stripping all old lacquer aluminum casting, hand sanding casting to remove pitting, corrosion, and other imperfections, replacing original look or grain. For all of you who have asked if the turntable comes with a platter mat, answer is yes it does.

This is a restored Technics SP-10 Mk 2 turntable, and SH-10E power supply. The balance of work on stop assembly is primarily cleaning printed circuit board and all compression springs. The top thrust bearing was also replaced with a Orlon cap that purchased off of.

They are a bit of pain to change but I am considering starting replace all these speed bulbs as part the normal restoration. They just use a disk sander and leave round grinding sanding mark instead of the fine straight line finish like original.

The complete stop assembly was restored too as I have found this to be a major problem with almost all of un restored Technics SP-10 turntables being sold. Many times the little on off bulbs were not working and they also had to be replaced. I wanted to be sure and restore these aluminum bases with the original look.

If just one of the speed bulbs are not working, I replace all 3 these so that they same color. Many times the speeds were not able to be selected and on off micro switch was working.

Over 100,000,000 served. Believe me when I tell you, this is a major job and lot of hand work but just didn't want to restore these beautiful turntables not take care the cosmetic problems that nearly all have from years use poor storage them after they are no longer in.

When I replaced them, they are with led's. In the restoration of stop assembly switch I replaced all 4 micro switches which control on off turntable and 3 different speeds.

In some instances the springs needed to be replaced due corrosion and or they were weak. The power supply also had all of electrolytic capacitors replaced and voltage s being supplied to turntable have been adjusted.

These micro switches are a big problem and do stop working after some 40 years of service. Both of these methods can be tracked. The old one was showing a bit of wear. Many of the old ones were badly swollen and out spec.

I did not paint the cabinet of power supply so they will show some scratches and dings associated with 40 years service.
