I checked the torques and such, everything is spot on. If you are looking for a decent Onkyo, you'd be hard pressed to find better. Same units as in the Camacho among others. These sank yo tape transports are pretty solid.
Service: pretty much in original condition. Very hard to find a mark on it anywhere. Naturally, I replaced the idler tire. Nice tell-lights in the play, rec and pause switch for instant mode recognition.
Features acacias for fine recording adjustment. Cassette door cover has some extremely minor hair swirls, probably from cleaning. Play button has a tiny mark. Be sure to look over the photos.
Had to tweak the tape path alignment - was a bit off. Shipping: package size is about 21x20x8. So all that was fixed, and I learned a lot more about these fine transports. It has dolby b c with or without the FM filter.
Timer record play and memory rewind stop. Everything good. Verified electronic alignment and adjusted the rec levels. On this one I needed to remove the timing cam, motor and lifted head deck due dried out lubrication.
Includes a 4-page printout of basic operations not shown. Sounds great and makes excellent recordings. Direct drive capstan motor. Not used much, the head looks excellent.
Cosmetics: pretty close to pristine. Onkyo TA-2055 dolby b c cassette deck this is my second of these, and I still say: what a great unit. Box code: gadgetry 1 priority at 18 lbs. Tape timer type counter for estimated time.
