The belt was replaced a few years ago, I ran several different tapes through it just now to make sure everything is still working correctly and worked great. This is made of metal, not cheap thin plastic, so it somewhat heavy, I apologize if the calculator charging you a lot. This is a Sony TC-FX30 stereo cassette tape player and recorder.

The last picture shows VI meter working while playing tape. With this deck you can select between type I through iv, that's 1-4, tape types depending on the material is made out of.

This also features Dolby b-type and c-type, has independent left right level knob, adjustable though the inner or outer half of knob. The back has left right rca in and out for recording into deck playing through a receiver or amplifier.
