Details:

Plays and records with accuracy. The cassette door was re-damped and may be stiff on arrival. A very low mileage deck. Plastic glass looks good.

They still use a drag brake for back tension though, so I had to re-pad. Another tiny ding on the fwd play button. Tape path was cleaned and de-mag'd showing little usage. Service: only a minor tear down on this one.

I was impressed with the transport, me being a nark fan and all. A tiny ding to the left of timer switch. It seems Sony finally has a simple, effective design. Good bass, too.

The head lift and pivots were all good. Shipping: priority approx. Thrust plate too, and that's about it on these. The mechanism is pretty simple an improvement for Sony.

The head slider bearings were lubed. Cosmetics: check the pics, unit looks great. Other than that a few swirls form previous cleaning. 20x16x10 box at 15 lbs.

The alignment was verified and electronic performed with just a few tweaks here there. A very clean looking, heavy, solid deck. Naturally, the belt was replaced, there is only one. Nice silent operation with soft touch controls.

Hardly a mark on this pretty deck. The head looks great, and this machine performs. Tape speed and w f all tested good.
