I could smell no smoke on it, someone else later bought it and there was complaint at all. This being a vintage item I must disclose that have no idea if it has ever been exposed to cigarette smoke, don't smell any and also cleaned very thoroughly, the reason mention is know there are few people out who can slightest trace of ancient smoke on anything. I've found that tougher ones like do come off if you leave the stuff on awhile, I just for things sell to look as good possible, have any questions, will my best answer them.

Really nice Jvc cassette recorder, everything works fine and appearance is good just has the average little scratches on it, nothing excessive see photos I took pictures of it while was playing so you can be assured works, seems like i'm one few people that does that, look closely you different numbers tape counter level indicators moving, there cosmetic blemish far right side where some for quite a long time, tried goo gone but didn't do to well, course doesn't affect anything, its minor blemish, am going try clean again later by spreading letting sit about 10 minutes, then think will come off. Now what kind of idiot would buy something over thirty years old that was very obviously used at many parties where there were people smoking cigarettes if they do not like the smell smoke.
