Takes 4 AA batteries, not included. I've only tested the play back on some of my old cassette tapes. I can not guarantee 100 functionality as have tested the mic. I originally bought this for a raspberry pi project but never ended up finishing it, so no longer need it.
I've put new batteries in and tested the buttons, everything seems to function. Vintage rare Hitachi TRQ-21 cassette tape recorder includes external mic attachment and wrist strap.
