Otherwise it plays the tape ok. I got the power indicator to come on once but did not test it any further. The works fine and preamps but has some minor issues. The unit sometimes randomly selects a different input.
Oftentimes, neither of these issues come up and it works just fine. The tape deck is in good shape, cosmetically there are some scratches on corner and body but otherwise ok.
The radio tuner display does not work. The tape transport works but fast forward and rewind runs slow, probably in need of a new belt.
The loudness switch is dirty and needs cleaned with exit turning it sometimes will cause crackling channels to cut out. Cleaning it might also fix an issue with the input selector. Up for offer is the rare Akai UC-5 bookshelf set, hard to find all components together.
