I have been using these amps with my Hartman Jordan citation pre amplifier and they did sound very good lots of gain. Of the 1940s these amps were used as booth monitor and earphone amplifiers designed to fit in a 19. This is a single ended amplifier using Hammond broadcast quality input transformer to drive 6v6g output tube and 6x5 as rectifier. Korea approx.

The r4137a amplifier was part of Northern Electric cinema sound systems used starting in early 1940s. Northern Electric was the Canadian wing of western and shared components patents. The portable cabinet makes these amps Mir user friendly.

There were more than a few of these amplifiers used in cinemas along with other western and Northern Electric eq. Output is rated at 6 to 8 watts 4, ohms there are no volume controls so you do need a preamps drive them.
