This cartridge is designed specifically for stereotape systems, offering a unique and immersive listening experience.
The SPC-2 is an orthophonic cartridge, which means it utilizes a flat, straight stylus that tracks the record groove in a straight line. This design aims to reduce distortion and provide a more accurate and faithful reproduction of the original recording. The orthophonic cartridge is mounted on a rigid, lightweight aluminum body, ensuring stability and reducing vibrations that can affect sound quality.
The SPC-2 is compatible with RCA Fidelity High Player Recorder Victor's Stereotape system, a revolutionary technology that allowed for high-fidelity stereo recordings on standard-sized records. The cartridge's output is balanced and low in impedance, making it perfect for the Stereotape system's design.
The cartridge's sound quality is truly remarkable. It delivers a wide soundstage, with clear and distinct left and right channels. The bass is rich and powerful, while the highs are crisp and detailed. The SPC-2 cartridge captures the nuances of the original recording, providing a listening experience that is as close as possible to being in the same room as the musicians.
